These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is perhaps best known as a highly regarded radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. Of course, her path to her current position wasn't always a straight line.
It all began in 1969, when Gail Weingast attended Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts. There, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. That indicated that she didn’t always know she would be a doctor, but soon after, she decided to go to the Boston University School of Medicine, which is where she became Gail Weingast MD in 1976. Dr. Weingast also did a pediatrics internship from 1976-1977 at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, then completed a residency in pediatrics over the next two years, after which she also completed a residency in the field of radiology from 1980 to 1983 and a fellowship in the field of ultrasound in 1983. Dr. Weingast completed her post-graduate studies as a radiologist from 1983 to 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver. Soon after that, Dr. Gail Weingast worked at several other hospitals, mostly in Colorado, but also in New York, until she settled into her current position, where she has been for more than 20 years. In that time, she has been able to guide her department into its current position as a premiere medical facility with her more than four decades of knowledge and experience. Comments are closed.
