It has never been clear the path to Dr. Gail Weingast’s career was planned from the beginning, since the path she followed wasn't always a straight line. Her education, for instance, began in 1969, when young Gail Weingast attended Jackson College at Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts. There, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, thus indicating she didn’t see medicine as a calling from the beginning. Something seems t have switched on soon after, however, since she attended the Boston University School of Medicine, which is where she officially became Dr. Gail Weingast MD in 1976.
Following medical school, Dr. Weingast completed a year-long pediatrics internship from 1976-1977, and followed that up with a residency in pediatrics, which she completes in 1978. Following that, she also completed a residency in radiology from 1980 to 1983 and a fellowship in the field of ultrasound in 1983. All of that was completed at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, although Dr. Weingast completed her post-graduate studies as a radiologist from 1983 to 1984 at Denver’s St. Anthony’s Hospital. Following her education, Dr. Gail Weingast practiced at several hospitals in Colorado and also New York, before landing at Backus Hospital more than two decades ago. Comments are closed.
