Generally speaking, many medical professionals pick a specialty early on in their careers and then rarely venture from that specialty throughout their career. Dr. Gail Weingast began her studies in the field of pediatrics from the years of 1976-1977. This time was spent looking deeply into this one particular specialty which helped her to gain a better understanding of pediatrics before deciding on her own career path. Dr. Gail Weingast decided to stick with pediatrics at that time and she performed her residency in Pediatrics at Colorado General Hospital over the next two years. It was then that she decided to make a change and she did a residency in the Radiology department from 1980 to 1983. It was at this time that she found the perfect speciality for her and she directly followed her residency with a fellowship in the field of Ultrasound in 1983.
