With a career spanning over 40 years, Dr. Gail Weingast has traversed numerous hospitals across Colorado and New York before settling into her current role at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. Over two decades at Backus Hospital, she has earned acclaim as a distinguished radiology specialist and presently serves as the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, playing a pivotal role in elevating the institution's status to one of the nation's premier medical facilities.
Dr. Weingast's career trajectory was anything but linear. Initially embarking on her education at Tufts University in Massachusetts in 1969, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, her path to medicine wasn't immediately apparent. It was only later that she pursued her medical studies at Boston University School of Medicine, attaining her MD degree in 1976 and assuming the title of Dr. Gail Weingast.
