Her medical career journey began in 1969, although it was clear at first that the future Dr. Gail Weingast did not hold a strong desire to enter the medical field. At first, she studied hard and earned a degree in Spanish. Armed with that Spanish Degree from Jackson College at Tufts University, however, she attended the Boston University School of Medicine soon after, and she earned her medical degree and officially became Dr. Gail Weingast way back in 1976.
These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is probably best known and most highly regarded as one of the best radiology specialists in the country. She has been at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she has been for the last 20 years. Currently that facility’s Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, she has guided the fortunes of that department to its current status as one of the elite medical facilities in the country. Just because her career path wasn’t always a straight line, make no mistake; Dr. Gail Weingast values every bit of her educational and career journey. Without all of it, she may not have become the highly accomplished doctor and medical administration she is today. After medical school, Dr. Gail Weingast continued her education, completing a one year pediatrics internship, a two-year residency in pediatrics, another two year residency in the field of radiology, as well as a three year residency and a one year fellowship in the field of ultrasound, all at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, before completing her post-graduate studies as a radiologist from 1983 to 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver. Dr. Gail Weingast went on to several other Colorado hospitals for awhile, before heading to New York and then landing at her current gig in Connecticut, at Backus Hospital. Comments are closed.
