More than forty years ago, Dr. Gail Weingast embarked on a profound journey in the medical field, laying the groundwork for a distinguished career. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University, she pursued advanced education at Boston University's School of Medicine, culminating in her graduation in 1976. The initial years of Dr. Weingast's medical profession were marked by substantial growth in practical experience and specialized knowledge. Cultivating her skills at two prominent hospitals in Denver, Colorado - Colorado General Hospital and St. Anthony's Hospital - she underwent an extensive range of training. This included a one-year internship in pediatrics, a four-year residency in radiology, a yearlong fellowship in ultrasound, and two years of advanced post-graduate studies. While her interest in pediatrics was profound, it was the field of radiology that ultimately became her primary professional focus and expertise. Since the completion of her post-graduate studies in 1984, Dr. Weingast has been a vital contributor to the field of radiology. Her illustrious career has spanned across multiple hospitals in Colorado, New York, and Connecticut. In Connecticut, she has devoted approximately two decades, continuously evolving in her roles. A recent and notable accomplishment is her position as the Chief of Breast Imaging at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.
